Your new home has a pre-existing security system
Many times after you close on a new house, you’ll see that the old owners left a home security system. All the components work, are hung in the right places, and are ready to go. In this case, all you might have to do is to call and start a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration issues, and they may offer options on upgrades. It's a preliminary trip, and you can get your monitoring set up without worrying about any new components -- unless you make additions.
The old owners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer fee to make your life simpler. If the owners are downsizing to a condo or retirement community, turning over the Vivint service might be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and bring your old devices with you
You may want to bring your old Vivint system with you to a new home when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to do, as modern components are plug and play. You can remove each alarm or camera yourself or use a professional expert to take care of your devices. Then our installers will set up the same components -- and any new things you need -- in the new house. The home security contract will keep the same.
